Impressive Special Effects to mark the opening of Burj Dubai

Dubai is set to make history today, with the opening of its very own superscraper and the world’s tallest building Burj Dubai scheduled to open at 8pm.

Major General Mohammad Eid Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency Department at Dubai Police told Gulf News: “His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum orders the opening of the gates for the public to the opening ceremony of Burj Dubai…Now we are going to open three gates for the guests and public – the north entrance of the Burj, the south entrance from Souk Al Bahar and one through Dubai Mall.”
The inauguration will start with a short documentary on Dubai and the construction of the tallest tower in the world.

This will be followed by series amazingly choreographed light, sound, water and fireworks shows. The first one themed From the Desert Flower to Burj Dubai, will highlight the desert lily which inspired the tower’s design. This will be followed by the Heart Beat, themed on the construction of the tower. And then From Dubai and UAE to the world. Each of these is reportedly going to be a spectacular show of lights and sounds.

And the grand finale will be the fireworks – a staggering 10,000 of them!

Close to 6,000 visitors are expected to attend the event and there will be parking available for up to 7,300 vehicles.
