RTA has launched a new service called “mpark” which will enable Dubai residents to pay their parking fees more conveniently through their mobile phones. 

This will make it very easy to extend the parking time without having to rush to the parking machine each time for another ticket. This service will initially cover Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City and Sheikh Zayed road, and will be available in Bur Dubai and Deira in August and October respectively.

However, you need to have a Etisalat number to avail of this service. The amount is billed on the monthly invoice or deducted from the balance based on whether you are a post-paid or pre-paid subscriber. 

Also, Dubai registered vehicles do not need to be registered with the mpark website, but the others should register their vehicles at www.mpark.rta.ae before they can use this service.

The format to make the payment is as follows: send an SMS to 7275 including vehicle number plate, parking zone code (mentioned on the boards)  and the parking duration in hours. 

Once the payment is made, you will receive a confirmation via SMS and the parking warden will be informed about it through the electronic system to keep him from issuing you a fine. 

Note: There is additional transaction fee of 30 Fils / SMS for using the mParking service.
