There has been a new addition to the ever-growing list of shopping malls in Dubai, a new one has just opened its doors in Dubai Marina. The Dubai Marina Mall boasts of a total of 160 stores, including a supermarket (the second Waitrose in Dubai), a six-screen cineplex, and a seven-storey Gourmet Tower. Only a part of the complex is ready and most of the stores will open early 2009.

Mr Jim Badour, Chief Executive Officer, Emaar Malls Group, said: “With the opening of The Dubai Mall, our flagship project, Emaar Malls Group has redefined the concept of shopping malls by offering a varied mix of shopping and entertainment options. Although it comes at a time when consumers are not too keen on spending, it may be good news for the Dubai Marina residents due to the lack of any other options in the neighborhood.
